Safety warning to pupils after reports a girl was approached in Longton

A Penwortham school has issued a reminder to parents and pupils to stay vigilant after a pupil reported being approached by a man in a car on her way to school.

All Hallows Catholic High School sent a message to parents today and reminded pupils about personal safety following the alleged incident in Longton.

The message said: “This morning one of our pupils was approached by a man while waiting for the school bus in Longton.

“The man was aged approximately 65-75 years old, medium build and was driving a red car.

“The incident has been reported to the police and the pupil is safe and well.”

A police spokesman confirmed the incident had been reported and an investigation is underway.
