Stop and search powers are in force across a swathe of Deepdale, Fulwood and Ribbleton during Saturday night.

Preston Police have stepped up patrols after two incidents of disorder.

Both incidents took place in Deepdale and Brookfield during Saturday (20 July) afternoon.

A Section 60 order has been granted which gives police the power to search people or vehicles without suspicion.

A police spokesman said: “This should not overly concern people. It’s not about targeting people, but is about making sure we do all we can to keep people safe.”
