Police arrest man in connection with sexual assault in Bamber Bridge

A convicted thief who went on the run has been arrested by police.

Matthew Parkinson was wanted in connection with breaching his release licence terms in May.

Preston Police said the 26-year-old had alledgedly broken a curfew.

He was also wanted in connection with an allegation of seual assault in Bamber Bridge in June.

Police arrested Parkinson in Preston during Monday 29 July.

Parkinson had been in prison for battery, theft and assault, after being convicted in November last year.

A police spokesman thanked the public and media for their help in sharing the wanted persons appeal in June.
