Person rescued from Preston Docks by firefighters

An early morning rescue saw firefighters scrambled to Preston Docks.

Two fire engines from Preston Fire Station and specialist appliances from Penwortham were sent to the Marina.

One person had become marooned on a concrete pontoon in the water of Albert Edward Dock.

The incident around 4.20am on Saturday (13 July) saw a swift water rescue team head into the water.

The person was rescued and was treated at the scene by the North West Ambulance Service.
