Plans are on the drawing board for a 150 home development at Cardwell’s Farm, Barton.

Housebuilder Wainhomes has submitted an application to Preston City Council to develop the agricultural land in Garstang Road.

The scheme would include up to 151 houses with a third of the development being allocated for social housing.

The exact size of the homes is not yet known.

Two years ago Preston City Council rejected an application for a 55 home development at Cardwell’s Farm after objections from locals.

Barton Parish Council said the scale of the plan was inappropriate for a rural location.

But in 2018 Wainhomes resubmitted the application and it was approved.

Now the developer wants to increase the site from 55 homes to 150.

Preston City Council’s planning committee will consider the plans.
