Police herded the cows back to safety

Police were called to a different kind of beef last night when several cows and a bull broke free.

The cattle were roaming across a car parking area in Guild Park, Whittingham, risking damage to cars and gardens.

Officers from the rural crime team and immediate response enlisted the help of a local farmer to herd the cows back to their field.

A spokesman said: “It’s not all about catching the bad guys!

“Officers found the cheeky cows and managed to mooooove them along with the much appreciated help of a local farmer.

“They’re now back to their field where they can graze safely and can’t cause any damage.”
