A new set of road closures have begun as Preston’s university presses on with creating Adelphi Square.
Motorists using the Adelphi roundabout are being advised Corporation Street is closed if you’re trying to head up to Fylde Road.
A diversion will see you go across the centre of the Adelphi roundabout and enter a two-way section.
Both Kendal Street and Maudland Road remain closed.
Corporation Street remains one-way to northbound traffic only, with anyone wanting to head down towards the Ringway being sent down Friargate and then heading along Heaton Street to join Corporation Street.
Hope Street has also become two-way.
These road changes are in force immediately and run until the end of November this year.

Chief operating officer at the University of Central Lancashire, Michael Ahern, said; “We’d like to thank everyone for their patience while this important project is taking place. Our contractors are making good progress and we hope that staff, students and Prestonians will start to see an improvement in the coming months.
“One of our priorities is to ensure that everyone is kept safe during this period of works and urge pedestrians and cyclists to stick to the correct routes and not walk on the roadside or cross where there aren’t any dedicated crossings.
“It is essential that no-one uses the walk ways through the roundabout or the old pedestrian crossings as these are no longer being used. Should you use them, you could be putting yourself in danger.
“In addition, it would be beneficial for road users to add five or 10 minutes to your journey time especially if you’re driving into this area at peak times.”
The work on the Adelphi roundabout is to create Adelphi Square, a new public open space, as well as the university’s new £60million student centre building.
