We don’t want to jinx it but how amazing has the weather been recently?
We’ve been picking the kids up from school and heading straight for ice cream, sometimes from the good old-fashioned ice cream van but other times treating ourselves to a lovely sit-down venue.
It got us thinking about some of our favourites in Preston…
Bonds of Elswick
Bonds have been making homemade dairy ice cream since 1947.
Renowned for using a traditional recipe handed down through the family!
Their ice cream cart is available to hire for weddings and events.
Bonds also has a Coffee Shop and restaurant. However, the Ice Cream Kiosk is the last to shut often until 8pm in the summer months!
Huntleys Country Stores
With 26 flavours of ice cream at the Restaurant at Huntleys you’re bound to find one for you.
The kids can also enjoy time in the play area outside.
The hall has always served Moo2You ice cream but now they have their very own wafflery!
Dottie’s serves desserts, milkshakes and of course waffles.
To walk it off, take a stroll through the stately home or the grounds. Children can enjoy the animal area or play in the playground where there is a miniature Samlesbury Hall replica and the Mayflower ship!
Tootsies Ice Cream Parlour & Coffee Shop
Tootsies Ice Cream is a family owned and run business.
They produce over 150 (!) flavours of ice cream and are continuously coming up with more.
As well as selling Ice cream they are also a café and coffee shop, using locally sourced ingredients.
You can also buy their ice cream at Old Holly Farm.
Tootsies also sell homemade sorbets, dairy free soya ice cream and milkshakes.
Mr Scoopz ice cream is homemade by the famous English Lakes Ice Cream Company using natural and locally sourced ingredients.
Like the ice creams, the Sorbet range is made with natural ingredients.
Vegetarian, Vegan and diabetic options are also available.
Brockholes Nature Reserve
Brockholes Ice Cream cabin is open 11am – 5pm daily. They serve ice cream from Wallings in Lancaster who make their ice cream at their own farm with their own herd of cows.
Enjoy ice cream while you take a walk or the kids play in the reserve play area.
Hugo’s Ice Cream Parlour and Coffee Shop
Another place selling Wallings ice cream and sorbets in Preston is Hugo’s.
They have a selection of 28 flavours and also serve breakfast served 7 days a week.
