Preston Community Transport’s Shopmobility service received the donation from Millercare after the charity mentioned how many enquiries it receives for transportable scooters.

Millercare and Preston Shopmobility have a long-standing relationship that includes the company servicing and maintaining the charity’s fleet of large mobility scooters, which are used daily in and around Preston city centre.

Joe Hannett from Preston Shopmobility said: “Wow! This is an unbelievably generous donation to Preston Shopmobility. These three folding scooters will increase our service offer to the people of Preston hugely.

“Millercare has been a consistent friend to Preston Shopmobility over the years and this is further proof of that. Their generosity is very much appreciated by trustees, staff and, of course, our service users.”

Jim Rolfe, Service Centre Manager for Millercare, said: “Our great relationship with Preston Shopmobility enables us to provide the charity with an effective service and maintenance programme, this allows people to access safe, reliable mobility scooters with minimum down time for their fleet.”
