Car fire tackled by firefighters near Ashton Park

Firefighters put a fire in a car near Ashton Park during Friday evening.
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service sent one crew from Penwortham around 8pm on Friday (26 July).
The car was on fire in a layby in Whinfield Lane, off Pedders Lane in Ashton-on-Ribble.
Whinfield Lane was blocked off for around an hour by emergency services while the road was made safe.
No one was hurt in the fire.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the fire service.
