Red Scar Industrial Estate fire sees six crews tackle flames at recycling centre

Firefighters were tackling a fire at an industrial estate on the outskirts of Preston from the early hours of Wednesday (26 June) morning.

Six crews from Preston, Bamber Bridge, Chorley and Blackburn, as well as a drone crew, were sent to the fire at Red Scar Industrial Estate in Longridge Road.

A quantity of rubbish had caught fire in an outbuilding at a recycling centre within the industrial estate.

Calls about the fire came in around 4.50am.

The fire was within a covered unit which is 25m by 25m.

Crews remained at the scene throughout Wednesday morning.
