A Tanterton woman has made it through to the final of Miss England.
Holly Moore will compete for the top prize of £100,000 and a luxury holiday to Mauritius.
The 21-year-old, who is a former Miss Preston, has been using her status to help raise money for a number of charities.
Holly, who now works for the Shout Preston Network in events promotion, attended Broughton High School.
Her fundraising for charities has included abseiling Liverpoool’s 486ft Radio City Tower.
She has also launched a mental health campaign – #ItsOkayToSpeakAboutIt.
Holly told Blog Preston: “It is so overwhelming to be in the Miss England Final.
“It’s something you dream of and hope of but not something that actually happens.
“I’m very honoured to have been given this opportunity with this platform as it really does give me a voice with my Mental Health campaign #ItsOkayToSpeakAboutIt and I believe I am living proof that when you finally learn to accept yourself despite all the difficulties, things really do get better.”
The Miss England final takes place over 31 July and 1 August at the Newbridge Hotel in Newcastle.
The winner goes on to compete in the Miss World Final.
The city has seen success in the competition in previous years with Elizabeth Grant being crowned Miss England in 2016.
