Rise cafe has applied to change the use of the old Games Workshop

An empty retail unit in the Miller Arcade could open as a cafe if Preston City Council grants approval.

An application has been submitted to convert the former Games Workshop into Rise cafe to open selling smoothies and snacks until 9pm.

The unit has been empty since June 2017 when Games Workshop relocated to Lune Street.

If approved, Rise will create eight jobs.

The application includes listed building consent to install vents and a serving hatch in a design complementary to the Miller Arcades historical features.

Plans also include an outside seating area.

Preston City Council planning committee will consider the application.

If you wish to comment you can do so before June 24 at devcon@preston.gov.uk quoting ref 06/2019/0428.
