A man was found dead in the back of a car off New Hall Lane.

Preston Police were called to Beenland Street at 7.50am on Saturday (22 June).

Update: Police now say the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious

The body of a man was found inside the back of a car.

Police say his death is being treated as unexplained.

Officers believe it is a 38-year-old local man, and have informed family.

DI Martin Pearson from Preston Police said: “Firstly, my thoughts are with the family and friends of this man at this incredibly distressing time.

“We are in the early stages of our investigation and are looking into the time leading up to this man’s death and how he has come to end up in the back of a Nissan car.

The man’s body remains at the scene while the police investigation continues.

Beenland Street remains cordoned off.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference 343 of June 22.
