Bakery chain Greggs are planning to open within Preston Bus Station.

Passengers waiting for their buses will be able to feast on sausage rolls and cakes in future.

Unit 5 within the grade-II listed Bus Station is due to be converted to fit in additional ducting and more.

Greggs have applied for planning consent to modify the unit in-keeping with the internal work that has recently taken place inside the Bus Station.

A Greggs spokeswoman told Blog Preston: “We’re looking into the possibility of opening a new shop at the Preston Bus Station later this year and will have more information about exactly where and when soon.”

Work is currently ongoing down the western apron of the Bus Station to create a new urban park.
