Golden Way in Penwortham reopened in both directions after crash

A main road in Penwortham was closed in both directions due to a crash.

Golden Way, the A582, was shut by South Ribble Police.

Police were called around 1.35pm on Thursday (13 June) to a collision between a car and a pedestrian.

A police spokeswoman said the pedestrian involved had suffered leg injuries.

The North West Ambulance Service confirmed a man was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries.

Golden Way was closed in both directions from the roundabout at Booths to the A59.
