A Preston-based charity is holding a Handbags and Gladrags event at the city’s Baluga Bar.
Age Concern has organised the event to raise funds for services such as dementia day centres, befriending and community activities.
Attendees are invited to take along their pre-loved dresses and handbags, which will be put up for sale on the night. Any items that aren’t sold will be put on display in one of Age Concern’s six charity shops.
Tickets are priced at £15 and include entry, a glass of Prosecco and a buffet. A live vocalist and DJ will provide the entertainment.
As well as raising funds, Age Concern will use the event to promote its new website, www.ageisjustanumber.org.uk.
The website now has a social media wall, an online shop and a booking facility for Age Concern’s activity centres, charity events and free will clinics.
