It is understood she was walking her own dog on the old railway lines on Friday May 31 when it got into a fight with another dog.

Sharon stepped in to separate the animals, but was bitten on her hand and neck.

She was found seriously ill at home and sadly died in hospital a week after the attack.

Toby Ayres has set up a crowdfunding page to raise funds for the funeral.

He said: “The death has come as unexpected to all the family and all her friends. We’re trying to raise some money to help with the funeral cost. Anything will help, thank you.”
