Friends have laid flowers in a Preston park in memory of a boy who died in a suspected drug overdose.

Harry Flood was found at a property in Garstang Road, close to the junction with North Road, during Sunday (23 June).

He had become unwell after taking MDMA and cannabis.

Preston Police confirmed the 17-year-old died in hospital.

During a moving ceremony in Avenham Park, near Frenchwood Rec, flowers were laid and lanterns lit by around 50 people.

His friends lit candles and laid them out to spell Harry at the base of a tree close to a bench where he used to sit.

Harry attended Christ the King School and had recently been studying at Preston’s College.

His sister, who it is understood he lived with, also attended the event.

A fundraising page has been set up in Harry’s memory and has so far raised nearly £1,000 towards the cost of his funeral.

The fundraising page is on GoFundMe.
