A Hoghton-based community charity is hosting a Children’s Fantasy Festival to help support South Ribble families who suffer from Holiday Hunger.
The festival, which is billed as an afternoon of fun for all the family, will see an appearance from Princess Elsa and other surprise characters. There will also be sing-a-longs, rides, stalls and face painting.
Instead of payment for entry to the festival, Gregson Green is asking for donations of non-perishable food items or toiletries.
Donations gathered at the event will be delivered to Home-Start Central Lancs. The Chorley-based charity will then create food parcels to distribute to families in need this summer throughout Chorley, South Ribble and West Lancashire.

Home-Start’s volunteers visit families in their homes offering support and meals to tackle the issue of Holiday Hunger – where families don’t have the means to provide meals to their children outside school term periods.
Gill Fowler from Gregson Green said: “We’re excited to bring the festival to life this weekend and support a great cause. We’ve a long-standing relationship with Home-Start and we’re delighted to be able to support them and in turn lots of families in South Ribble this summer.”
The Children’s Fantasy Festival takes place on Sunday 30 June at Gregson Lane Community Centre in Hoghton from 1pm to 3pm.
