The Harris has played host to the BBC’s hit daytime show Bargain Hunt.
AdvertisementThe show, which sees two teams of amateur collectors scouring antiques fairs for bargains, came to the city on Tuesday 25 June.
The Bargain Hunt team were at the Harris to feature Preston cotton manufacturers Horrockses Fashions.
Horrockses became a popular ready-to-wear fashion brand in the 1950s. Known for quality cotton fabrics, cutting-edge textile designs and couture styling, their dresses were worn by the Queen and often featured in top fashion magazines.

The show will feature ex-employees of Horrockses, local vintage enthusiasts and design historian Chris Boydell, who wrote Horrockses Fashions: Off-the-Peg Style in the 40s and 50s.
The episode is due to air this autumn.
