A giant piece of artwork was created on the Flag Market to highlight the usage of single-use plastics.

Making A Mark brought artwork with a message to the city along with music, dancing and more.

A worldwide samba band led the day with a parade through the city.

Artist Tim Saunders then worked with fellow Oxheys Studios artists to create the artwork out of more than 1,500 plastic bottles.

Many of the bottles were donated on the day by members of the public.

Tim said: “It was a brilliant day and created so many conversations and awareness about the issue of single-use plastics.

“The rain couldn’t stop the city of Preston coming together for this community celebration.”
