A sneak peek inside a new Preston city centre hotel shows what the Shankly may end up looking like.
Signature Living group, who are behind the hotel, opened the doors on Tuesday 28 May to showcase two rooms which are nearing completion.
Redevelopment of the former Post Office on the Flag Market has slipped behind schedule and an October opening is now planned.
Chris Darley was one of those who went along to snap some of the detail of the restoration work.
Costing £15million the hotel, which draws its name from Bill Shankly, was due to open in April and then a part-opening was stated as June.
With space for 350 guests, a restaurant and a rooftop function room it will be one of the largest hotels in the city.
The Shankly’s parent company, Signature Living, is facing questions about its financial operations after a BBC piece alleged investors are struggling to see a return from the company for rooms bought at the Liverpool hotels it owns.

Blog Preston contacted the Shankly for further comment on its Preston opening but has not yet received a response.
