Police have shut a road on the border of Fulwood and Ingol due to a crash.

A driver has flipped their car and hit a lamppost in Woodplumpton Road.

The incident is close to the junction with Cadley Causeway. It took place around 5.30am on Thursday (2 May).

The road reopened around 7.30am.

LancsRoadPolice say the driver is uninjured but ‘due to the precarious position of the lamp post the road will remain closed between Cadley Causeway and Lytham Road until emergency lighting repairs can take place.’

Traffic was being diverted either down Cadley Causeway or into Blackpool Road and then up Black Bull Lane.
