A new woodland centre in Penwortham has been targeted again by vandals.

Diggy Sticks Woodland Centre is due for its grand opening this Bank Holiday weekend.

Vandals have started a fire and trashed some of the hard work of volunteers at the space off Factory Lane.

Krista Reynolds, from Diggy Sticks, said: “Six stumps were pulled from the fire circle and most of the den building sticks were burned.

“I just hope people could use the space responsibly and realise the space is as much for them as the rest of the community.”

Krista said the opening event on Sunday 26 May from 11am to 3pm was still going ahead.

The incident has been reported to police and anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 and give reference PE00532077JFKJB.
