The 15-year-old boy has spent the night in the cells after being found with a ‘very large knife’.

Preston Police posted a picture of the knife on social media.

Officers were called to Haslam Park around 1.45am.

Two males were spotted acting suspiciously in the park and they were stopped and searched for weapons.

A police spokesman said: “Clearly someone carrying such a weapon had only one intention, by taking this off our streets we’ve hopefully prevented serious if not fatal injuries tonight.”
