Ramadan meal in Preston brings faiths from across the city together

Dozens of people from all different faiths in the city joined Preston’s Muslim community for a Ramadan meal.

The Light Foundation hosted their fourth event for the annual Interfaith dinner.

In attendance were the chief executive of Lancashire County Council Angie Ridgwell, as well as senior officers from Lancashire Police, the North West Ambulance Service and Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.

Those attending were given information about the period of Ramadan and then treated to a meal during the event on Thursday 16 May at the Quaker Hall.

A spokesman for the Light Foundation said: “It was what can only and truly be described as an absolutely phenomenal display of unity and togetherness; during times of hatred and division.”
