A Preston dance group has been forced to cancel its show at Preston Guild Hall.
Sparkle Dance, based in Oxheys in Greenbank Street, were due to perform as part of Cirque Du Sparkle on Saturday 22 June.
But with Simon Rigby’s decision to mothball the venue, pending negotiations with management company VMS Live, the group have been told their show will not take place in the Charter Theatre.
Owner of the dance group Harriet Gingell told Blog Preston: “The worst thing has happened.
“The operations manager confirmed the venue is closed for the forseeable future.
“I am working on a back up plan but for the moment rehearsals for this Sunday are cancelled due to the show being off.”
Tickets for the show are £12 and the Guild Hall has said it is offering refunds.

However, the dance group say they paid around £5,000 for use of the venue and are unsure of when they will get this back. A fundraising page has been launched to help put on an alternative show.
Anyone who can offer the dance group an alternative venue is asked to call Harriet on 07724710337.
