Preston is to become one of the first places in the UK to get a parcel postbox.
These allow eBayers and ASOS lovers to use the Royal Mail online pre-pay service to then send parcels without needing to visit a Post Office.
Existing postboxes will be converted to be able to accept parcels through a metal shutter.
It follows the testing of the new parcel boxes during 2018.
Royal Mail says this is the first major change to post boxes since they were introduced 160 years ago.
Head of campaigns Mark Street said: “The wide scale introduction of parcel postboxes is one of the many ways we at Royal Mail are looking to make the lives of our customers easier.
“The parcel postboxes trial last year was a success, and we hope that the wider roll-out gives added flexibility to online sellers who might be running a business in their spare time and not keeping regular office hours.”
Preston is listed to be one of the first towns and cities in the UK to get the new post boxes during this year.
