An Indian restaurant chain is eyeing up Preston.
Mowgli street food has been expanding rapidly across the UK and now has Preston in its sights.
Founder and chief executive of Mowgli restaurants Nisha Katona dropped the hint on Twitter.
Responding to a plea for the street food chain to come to the city, she tweeted ‘sooooonnn’ and then added ‘Yes! Aiming for spring summer next year’.
Blog Preston contacted Nisha to clarify her remarks on Twitter.
She told us: “I’m thrilled to be opening Mowgli Preston in 2020; I was born and raised a Lancashire lass and am now honouring my Lancashire roots.
“I worked as a barrister in Preston and would have given my right arm for the lunchtime smash, grab and zing of Mowgli Indian home kitchen.
“So I’m building one and hope she brings you much joy. I have been hunting for a long time and I’m delighted to open Mowgli Preston our soon to be home from home.”
Mowgli say they have a prospective site in Friargate.
Mowgli is due to open in Cardiff and Leicester this year.
