Emergency services were called to reports of an assault in Meadow Street at 5.02pm on Sunday (26 May).

A 34-year-old man was found outside the New Fleece Inn with a laceration to his arm.

Inspector Steve Bradshaw confirmed police were hunting for two men in connection with the attack which occured on the road outside the pub.

The victim has been taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.

Cavan James, manager of the New Fleece, told the City of Preston News Network: “I just want to confirm that this did happen but me and my staff took the man in for shelter and to help him it happened outside my doors not inside the pub.”
