M6 reopened after closure between Tickled Trout and Broughton due to person on bridge

The M6 at Preston was shut due to concerns for the welfare of a person on a bridge.

Preston Police closed the motorway in both directions between Junction 31 (Tickled Trout) and Junction 32 (Broughton).

The incident began around 9.30am on Saturday (11 May).

The motorway was reopened at 10.15am.

Lancs Road Police tweeted: “Traffic on the M6 between 31 and 32 being held in both directions whilst officers deal with an incident on a bridge between the junctions.

“We are working hard to deal with the incident and we will have traffic moving as soon as possible.”

Delays were back to Junction 29 northbound and from Junction 32 southbound.
