Drivers who use the M55 late at night or first-thing in the morning are being warned about overnight closures.

Highways England are resurfacing the entire stretch between Junction 1 (Broughton) and Junction 3 (Kirkham).

They say the work is urgent and starts from Monday (13 May) on the westbound carriageway towards Blackpool.

Work takes place from 9pm to 5am each night and sees lane closures.
