Last year’s ‘Feed the Homeless’, event will take place in Preston’s Flag Market again this Ramadan.
Organisers have decided to rename it, ‘Iftaar Under The Stars’, but it will have the same concept and take place on Sunday the 2nd of June at 7pm.
It is hoped that the evening will bring Preston’s community in one place as everyone eats together ‘under the stars’.
After a successful event last year, organisers are aiming for an even better and bigger event this year. They want to see a diverse community attending but really hope to help those in need.
Organiser Famida Member said, “My team and I have decided to mix it up this year and bring equality and diversity within the community.
In order to make this a great event and ensure a big turnout, our team will be visiting homeless shelters to invite people to eat with us at sunset time”.
To ensure success, the team also contacted sponsors and volunteers for donations and support.
Hot food, desserts and non-perishable items will be available on the day.
Bags with daily essentials such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shower gel and sanitary towels will also be available.
