Firefighters rescue person from the River Ribble near the Old Tram Bridge

A person was rescued from the River Ribble during Sunday (26 May).

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service sent its water rescue teams from Preston Fire Station to the incident near the Old Tram Road, Penwortham.

Crews from Bamber Bridge and Penwortham also supported them.

A call came in just before 3.30pm of a person in the water in the Ribble.

The water team rescued one person from the water during the incident.

Crews were at the scene for around an hour.
