Electric vehicle charging points have been installed on Winckley Square.
In a move that former residents of the Georgian square couldn’t have pictured in their wildest dreams, drivers will be able to plug in and charge up their vehicles along the western side of the square.
A statement on the Lancashire County Council website states the council is partnering with a BP Chargemaster to provide charging locations across the county.
As part of the partnership LCC is providing an initial 150 parking bays, either at the side of the road or in their own car parks, where charging facilities can be provided.
The development follows news of electric car charging points at Preston East Services.
