Police have released a man on bail as a woman remains in a serious condition in hospital after a car park collision.
The woman, in her 20s, was left with serious injuries after a collision involving a campervan.
Preston Police arrested a 74-year-old man from Wigan at the scene at Morrisons on Blackpool Road on suspicion of dangerous driving.
He was later arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
Police have confirmed during Saturday (25 May) the man has been released on bail pending further enquiries until 20 June.
Investigations into the collision which took place at 6.25am on Friday (24 May) are continuing and police are appealing for witnesses.
Detective Chief Inspector Richard McCutcheon from Preston Police said: “We need anyone who witnessed this incident to speak to us as soon as possible. Similarly, we would like to trace anyone who has seen the vehicle in the area beforehand to get in touch.
“I would like to thank people in the area for their co-operation during Friday morning while we carried out our initial enquiries. I appreciate this may have caused some inconvenience but it was necessary for us to do our job effectively.”
