Motorists using the Broughton crossroads are being warned of its closure.

Woodplumpton Lane is being closed between the crossroads and Kingsway Avenue.

The temporary closure of the crossroads is due to resurfacing work.

Woodplumpton Lane will be closed on Tuesday 28 May, Saturday 1 June and Sunday 2 June. Access to Kingsway Avenue will be restricted during certain times on these days.

The crossroads itself will be closed on Wednesday 29 May, Thursday 30 May and Friday 31 May.

Signed diversion routes will be in place.

Highways design manager at Lancashire County Council John Gatheral said: “This is the latest stage of our improvement work in the centre of the village, which includes wider pavements and traffic calming.

“We apologise for the inconvenience these temporary closures will cause, while this improvement work takes place.

“We’re using temporary closures to reduce the overall impact of this work, which would otherwise take much longer and disrupt people much more.”
