Beer and gin festival returning to cricket club in Penwortham

An ale festival returns to Penwortham during the late May Bank Holiday weekend.

Organiser Andrew Tate said this year’s festival is due to see a larger selection of beers and gins than previous years.

There’s also the chance to take in a game of cricket while supping your pints.

The festival is held at the Vernon Carus Sports Club off Factory Lane, Penwortham.

On the Friday (24 May) there will be live music from Becky and Josh.

On Saturday (25 May) two cricket games are on including the 1st XI against local rivals Penwortham. Two bands are on in the evening, Chique Acoustic and the Yard Dogs.

During Sunday (26 May) there’s a 20-20 cricket game between Vernon Carus and Penwortham, along with an open mic music event.

The festival is free to attend.
