Arson investigation after bins set alight behind Plungington Road shop

An arson investigation has been launched after a fire during the early hours of Monday (13 May) morning in Plungington Road.

Preston Fire Station sent two crews to the car park behind the Spar shop.

Five bins had been deliberately set alight sending smoke billowing up behind the store just after midnight.

Firefighters put out the bin fires and say suspects have been identified on CCTV.

Preston Police will be investigating to trace those responsible and it is being treated as arson.
