The widow of a soldier who died during Army training is arranging a festival in his memory.

Corporal Darren Neilson was killed when a tank exploded during a live firing exercise in 2017, alongside Corporal Matthew Hatfield.

Now Darren’s widow Jemma is planning Daz Fest to in memory of her husband and to raise money for the charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers, which has supported their daughter Millie, 9, following the death of her dad.

Daz Fest will take place on May 4 on St Josephs Parish Centre field, Brindle.

There will be live music, camping, stalls and a helter skelter, from 2pm to 10pm.

Day tickets are £10 and camping tickets £25. Under 16s are free.
