Detailed proposals for a mini retail park in Fulwood have gone in.

The Eastway Hub was approved in September last year after a planning battle lasting years.

A supermarket, six shops, a restaurant or pub and a drive-through coffee shop are all proposed.

It will be the second mini retail park on Eastway with the creation of a new Aldi and other retail units in Oliver’s Place.

This Eastway development is just down from Preston Grasshoppers, close to the roundabout before you can either go under the A6 or join it. The M55 runs behind the site.

A new access road is being created off Eastway onto it.

Hollins Eastway Limited have lodged a reserved matters application covering details on appearance, landscaping, layout and scale of the development.

No details have been given on who the supermarket will be or whether any of the retail units have been taken – or who will operate the drive-through or pub.

Previous proposals for the Eastway Hub throughout 2016 and before were thrown out due to its potential impact on the stalled Cottam Brickworks Tesco and the surrounding road network.

Councillors are due to meet on Thursday (25 April) to discuss the reserved matters planning application.
