More than 450 walkers went striding out during Saturday night to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for cancer patients in Preston.

Rosemere Cancer Foundation’s Walk in The Dark saw hundreds of people head down the A6, with Storm Hannah blowing a gale, from Chorley and South Ribble Hospital to Royal Preston Hospital.

The 11-mile trek, sponsored by The Eric Wright Group, has raised just short of £300,000 through entry fees and sponsorship.

All walkers received a goody bag at the start and a hot drink and bacon barm at the end.
