An Italian restaurant has undergone a major refurbishment since the sudden death of its much-loved owner.
Salvatore’s in Penwortham has stayed in the family and they say they are ‘here to stay’ in Liverpool Road.
In October it was confirmed Salvatore Vivace had passed away aged 61.
Penwortham rallied round the Vivace’s and the restaurant reopened and has been busy since.
Francesca Vivace speaking on behalf of the family said: “Our Dad started planning the restaurant refurbishment at the end of last summer.
“He wanted to give it a new look for the people of Penwortham after all their support over the years.
He’d already done the initial planning meetings so we knew what he liked and the look he wanted to go for which really helped but the main thing was to keep it as the local Italian family-run restaurant that a lot of our customers know us for.
“Since reopening we’ve been really busy and had so many positive comments!
“The recent support has meant a lot for our family and we want to give something back to the local community.
“We’re here to stay and I’m sure our Dad would be proud of what we’ve achieved so far.”
