In a separate incident a young disabled PNE fan was allegedly pushed down the stairs in the stadium.

The man responsible for policing Preston North End fans, Lancashire Police’s PC Paul Elliott tweeted about the incident.

He tweeted: “Update on the incident yesterday involving the young #pnefc fan who was pushed down the stairs. I’ve spoken to his dad, apart from a few bumps & bruises Sam is ok, he was obviously shook-up at the time. They’ll both be back on PNE Friday & I’ll be sorting a treat for them both.”
