Preston man arrested on suspicion of leaving Fulwood mosque hate crime messages

A Preston man has been arrested after three offensive messages were written on gate posts of a city mosque.

Masjid-e-Salaam was targeted on three occasions during the Easter weekend.

First on Good Friday and then again on Saturday (20 April) night and during the early hours of Sunday (21 April).

Preston Police arrested a 47-year-old man from the city on suspicion of racially aggravated criminal damage.

He has since been assessed and sectioned under the Mental Health Act.
