Preston Fire Station burgled while crews are out on duty

A firefighter had their bank card stolen while on duty.

Preston Police arrested a 37-year-old man after the burglary from Preston Fire Station in Deepdale.

A man is said to have forced entry to the building, entered the staff locker room during the early hours of Saturday (20 April).

A bank card was taken and then used at a local petrol station.

Police tracked him down and arrested him with the products bought from the petrol station.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service’s Shaun Walton said: “Well done to police for detecthing and detaining a suspected offender at Preston Fire Station.

“Very sad that an individual would target a fire station and firefighters belongings whilst they are on duty serving Lancashire.”
