A police chase in the early hours of Saturday (27 April) morning has led to a Samurai-style knife being taken off the city’s streets.

An unmarked police car spotted a vehicle being driven in a suspicious manner near HMP Preston in Ribbleton Lane around 2am.

Police pursued the vehicle to Church Street and a full search revealed the weapon hidden under the passenger seat.

Two people have been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.

PC Brown posted to say the ‘ninja training will have to be put on hold for the night’.
