Man has leg broken after late night attack outside Papa John’s in Penwortham

Police want to speak to anyone who was in a Penwortham pizza shop after a man was attacked.

A man in his 20s had hs leg broken during the attack by two men.

It took place around 12.10am on Sunday (28 April) just after the man left the Papa John’s pizza shop in Liverpool Road, Penwortham.

No descriptions of the two men have been released and police say they were ‘complete strangers’ to the man.

Several women were understood to be in the pizza shop at the time of the attack and police want to find them.

Detective Constable Dominic Webster said: “An innocent man was going about his evening when he was set upon by two complete strangers, and as a result he is now recovering in hospital from a broken leg. Violence like this is absolutely unacceptable and we are doing everything we can to piece together who is responsible.

“We would now urge anybody with information about this incident to contact us as soon as possible. There were a number of people in the pizza shop who may seen what happened or who may have got a good look at those responsible.

“If you can help with our enquiries please contact us as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 101, quoting log number 16 of April 28th.
