A newsagents in Preston has been raided by three men carrying a hammer and a machete.
McColls in Harewood Road, Deepdale, was targeted during Monday (22 April) evening.
Preston Police say the gang, armed with the hammer and machete, threatened staff and stole cash, alcohol and cigarettes around 9.30pm.
Detective Constable Andy Forsyth said: “We are particularly keen to speak to anyone with information relating to this crime.
“The men involved were believed to be wearing balaclavas with hoods up, an unusual sight given the warm Bank Holiday weather.
“A number of people are likely to have been in the area around the time of the offence with it being close to prayer time.
“If you saw anything or have any information, please get in touch.”
